California Trip Day 4

Sunday was the day we planned for sightseeing in LA. Andrew had a great idea to book an all day tour for us so we could see most everything we wanted to see and not have to drive, fight traffic and find parking. It was the best thing we booked for sure! It was a small tour bus that picked us up right at our hotel and then we were off! Our first stop was the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Our bus stopped right down the street from Grauman's Chinese Theatre and they also pointed out where to get the best view of the Hollywood Sign from the Dolby Theatre. We got to spend an hour at this location and it was really cool to see, but an hour was also all we needed because of the gross people on the Hollywood Walk of Fame trying to jump in pictures with people and then asking for money for it. Hated that part!

Next we drove through Beverly Hills!

Sunset Strip

Palm tree-lined Rodeo Drive!

Beverly Wilshire

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
Max Factor Family Tower

This is where Dancing with the Stars and The Price Is Right is filmed!

We got to stop here for a little over an hour for lunch. The Farmers Market and The Grove are here too so we spent a few minutes walking around before we decided on where to eat.

Sprinkles The Grove

We have now been to 8 Sprinkles Cupcakes locations between the 2 of us: Chicago, Las Vegas, La Jolla (Savannah and I), Downtown Disney, The Grove, Newport Beach, Scottsdale and Dallas!

For lunch we decided on Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill because when we stepped off the bus, it was all we could smell. Andrew was drooling! Ha ha!

Our next stop was the Santa Monica Pier!

Unfortunately we didn't have time to ride the Ferris wheel, but we did get to walk down on the pier for awhile.

Our next stop was Venice Beach! Venice Beach was gorgeous, but the area around Venice Beach is really sketchy so if it would have been just Andrew and I, we would have skipped it, but at least we can say we've been now. ;)

I did get to see the Venice Canals though! I was so excited about that!

Our last stop was mainly just for a restroom break, but we did get to check out Marina del Rey and all the beautiful sailboats! We also spotted a seal just swimming by the boats. ;)

Headed back to our hotel, we passed right by LAX.

Views of Harbor Boulevard on our way to dinner that night...

Last night of Disneyland views and fireworks before we fly home tomorrow morning.

  1. What a fun day! I knew about the Hollywood Stars, but the cement blocks with their prints was cool also.

  2. This makes me miss living in CA!!! Beautiful!

  3. oh man what a fun trip! maybe that needs to be our next big family vacation!
