So I'm an aunt...again! Congratulations, Doug and Misty! I can't wait to meet him!

We now have 7 nieces and 4 nephews and we love them all!

Meeting Ty Detmer

A few weeks ago, Andrew found out that one of his heroes, Ty Detmer, was coming to the Roosevelt Golf Course on July 25 so on Monday, Andrew and his dad paid their green fee, got in their golf cart and headed for Hole 16 where Ty would be meeting the public and signing autographs.

The Uintah Basin Standard was also there doing an article for the newspaper. Andrew and his dad gave quotes to the paper, the paper took some pictures of them getting autographs from Ty and the next day, their picture was the one that was chosen for the online article along with being published in the actual newspaper the following week! Here's the link to the online article here.

Andrew said he had a great time chatting with Ty, asking him questions about the upcoming season and just watching him interact with the other fans that were there as well.

Now Andrew's Chad Lewis autographed football includes Ty Detmer's autograph as well. Andrew also had Ty autograph a football card too. :)

Chicago Trip Day 3 & 4 Chicago, IL & Traveling

Sunday we got to spend all day in Chicago. :) We took the train in and our first stop was the Navy Pier! Their new Ferris wheel opened in May and I was so excited to ride it!

Views of Chicago...We stayed at the W the first time we visited Chicago. :)

360 degree views!

Navy Pier Crystal Garden

From the Navy Pier, we went to Eataly!

Now for an Italian snack!

Then we had lunch at Shake Shack!

The next thing I wanted to do was see Buckingham Fountain. Taste of Chicago was going on in the area by the fountain the weekend we were there, but it wasn't too crowded so we still got to see the fountain. :)

By then it was late afternoon and we were hot and tired so we opted to head back to our hotel for a swim. :)

After our swim, we decided to have dinner at Giordano's again and try other menu items since all we had ever had there was their delicious deep dish pizza. :) Once again, it didn't disappoint!

Monday morning we had an early flight home, but we had such a great 17th anniversary! We've also now been to 35 states. :)

Chicago Trip Day 2 Dubuque, IA to Wisconsin & Chicago, IL

In the days leading up to our trip, I had read an article online about places to visit in the United States. The place it listed for Iowa was the Field of Dreams Movie Site. When I looked on the map, I realized it was only 30 minutes west of Dubuque where we were staying so I told Andrew about it. He decided it would be fun to see so we headed that direction Saturday morning. We were so glad we did! It was such a fun stop!

More rolling hills and corn fields with cute red barns and silos. :)

It was free to get in and then we bought a couple cute souvenirs for our curio cabinet. :)

There was a fun little community game being played while we were there. :)

We were lucky because the corn was at the perfect height!

Then it was time to head back to Chicago, but we did it by way of Wisconsin so Andrew could get some Wisconsin cheese curds. ;) He says they are the best!

Andrew got a "cheesewich" at a gas station we stopped at. :)

For lunch, we stopped at Steak 'n Shake!

Once we got back to Chicago, we returned our rental car and took the hotel's shuttle to our hotel. We checked in and then decided to take the train into the city. We've been to Chicago 3 times now and we love it there! We always stay right by the train station so it's easy to get into the city, but also to the airport. :)

Our first stop in Chicago was Wrigley Field! The Cubs weren't playing in Chicago the weekend we were there, but it was fun to see the stadium. :)

It was getting later in the evening by then, but we did make one last stop at Sprinkles Cupcakes before we headed back to our hotel and to dinner. :)

Of course, we had to have deep dish pizza and Giordano's was just around the corner from our hotel. Also, it was much less crowded then the ones in the city. ;)
