Road Trip Day 1 & 2 - Chicago, IL

One day Andrew was checking out the cheapest places you could fly from SLC and came across airfare from SLC to Chicago for $98 per person round trip for a direct flight! We couldn't resist that price and so we decided to visit Chicago again for the second year in a row and also squeeze in an overnight trip to Wisconsin so we could check another state off our list. :) On Thursday, October 30, we flew from SLC to Chicago and checked in to our hotel, the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, which had an airport shuttle, but was also close to the train.

I love open hotels like this!

The next morning our hotel shuttle dropped us off at the train station and we headed into the city! Our first stop was lunch at Giordano's for deep dish pizza!

It was a blustery, cold and windy Halloween in Chicago, but it didn't stop us! After lunch, we walked over to the John Hancock Center and went up to the Observatory, which is now called 360 Chicago, on the 94th floor. It was so windy that I could feel the building swaying slightly from up there.

One second it was foggy and then the wind blew it away and it was clear! Crazy!

Navy Pier!

Water Tower!

The wind was blowing the waves up over the road and onto the cars trying to drive. Kind of scary!

Then we tried Tilt! Where you literally tilt outward 1,000 feet above The Magnificent Mile! It's a crazy experience, but we had to do it!

Here we go!

So fun!

Of course I had to buy the pictures they took, but believe it or not, I didn't buy them all and as we were walking away, the guy stuck all the ones I didn't buy in my bag. So nice of him and it made my day. :)

From here, the wind literally blew us down the street to Sprinkles! The best cupcakes I've ever had!

We were pretty cold and tired by this point, but we did a little shopping and then we headed over to Rainforest Cafe for dinner! I saw this Rainforest Cafe the last time we were in Chicago, but this time we decided to have dinner there as well. :)
