I really liked how my November mini quilt turned out. Maybe because I love fall's bounty and colors. :) This was also my first block to be wider instead of taller so I liked how the word 'November' fit all along the top.
Savannah saw on Facebook that a lady in Duchesne was teaching a Halloween modeling chocolate class and invited me to take it with her. I have never worked with modeling chocolate before, but I have always thought it would be fun to try so we headed to Duchesne last night for the class. We worked with modeling chocolate as well as fondant to make our little Halloween figures and obviously I am NOT an artist, but I do like how mine turned out for the most part. ;) Andrew really liked them too. :)
Another fun part about taking classes like this is the new people you get to meet who enjoy the same things as you do along with getting to spend some time with your friends. :)
Andrew goes to a quite a few if not all home BYU football games in a given season, but I like to try and go with him to at least one every season and last Saturday was the game! It was a fun game because BYU won, which of course always make it more fun to go. ;)
I'll actually be getting in one more BYU game this season, but it's an away game when we head to South Bend, Indiana to see BYU play at Notre Dame!
Tuesday night our swap group met for the month and we traded vintage dish
towels again. I found my vintage dish towel off of Etsy in the Earth-n-works shop.
The dish towel I received was from Sarah. It's what you would consider a true "vintage" dishtowel in that it is just a piece of linen with some colored stripes. It's very cute. :)
Next month we have decided to swap Christmas tree ornaments with everyone! I'm excited about this because it will be like back when we first started our swap group. :) We'll bring an ornament for everyone in the group and take one home from everyone in the group. Fun!
I have been wanting to get up to Deweyville to see some of my nieces and one of my nephews (they are living in my parents house there for a little bit while they search for their dream house) and finally last weekend, it worked out. :) But, first we met up with everyone including my parents for some lunch at Texas Roadhouse in Logan! Yum!
Then back in Deweyville, I gave my nieces and nephew a mini pumpkin from my garden along with a little Halloween surprise for each of them. ;)
After visiting for a couple hours, my brother, SIL, Andrew and I headed down to SLC for a Real Salt Lake game that my brother invited us to. He got awesome tickets from Key Bank where he works and offered 2 of them to us. It was my first Real Salt Lake game and I had a lot of fun! We had great seats!
It was a quick trip and I wish we could have spent more time, but I'm glad I got to go. :) I love my nieces and nephews so much and they seem to be growing up so fast lately!
Last Thursday, after we had our weekly dinner with Brandon and Kim, the 4 of us headed up to the corn maze for some getting lost fun! Since it was a Thursday, we pretty much had the place to ourselves so we entered the first phase of the maze.
All you could see of me in the dark was my glow stick. ;)
We made it through the first phase without much trouble, but it was just lightly starting to hail at that point so we got a hot chocolate before heading back in for the second and harder phase of the maze. Then...it really started to hail! The corn protected us pretty well, but it was starting to get muddy. We got lost a couple of times so by the time we made it out of there, we were ready to be in the car and out of the weather! It snowed SO HARD on the way home that I'm sure Brandon was struggling in some parts to see the road, but he got us all home safe and sound. :) No matter what though, we always have a great time at the corn maze. :) It's one of my favorite fall traditions!
My SIL Kim sells Tupperware and I've been loving it because I've been able to order a bunch of fun stuff through her, but finally I decided that I wanted to have a party. I knew that my mom had been wanting to have a catalog party so we decided to do a party together and last night was our open house. :)
For treats, my mom and I decided that we wanted to showcase Tupperware products so we did cupcakes in the Round Cake Taker, a pie plate filled with candy in the Round Pie and Pastry Container, a veggie assortment in the Serving Center Set and then just water to drink in the Classic Sheer 1 3/4 Qt Pitcher. I think it turned out perfectly!
Our open house was 2 hours long and at one point I looked around at my
house filled with family and good friends and was just completely happy.
I love getting together with the people I love most and having a
good time. It wouldn't matter to me what we were doing. :) Thank you all for coming! I hope you had a good time as well. :)
