Road Trip Day 3 - Chicago, IL

Thursday morning we woke up in Chicago and our first stop of the day was the Navy Pier!

We stayed at the W Chicago Lakeshore hotel.

View of Lake Michigan across the street from our hotel.

360 degree views from the pier.

We got to ride the Ferris wheel at the Navy Pier. :)

The Crystal Gardens at the Navy Pier had these fun fountains you could walk under. :)

We got a tip from a local on where to have the best deep dish pizza. He suggested Giordano's and boy was he right. It was amazing food!

Andrew had to order bruschetta for an appetizer because it had fresh mozzarella. I'm not a tomato fan, but he said it was delicious!

Interestingly deep dish pizza is made upside down from traditional pizza. The layers are the crust, then the toppings, next fresh, thick mozzarella cheese with the sauce on the top.

From Giordano's, we walked Chicago's Magnificent Mile, which has all the high end shops I could ever dream of! Including Sprinkles Cupcakes!

The cupcake ATM, which is open 24/7! In case you're craving a cupcake in the middle of the night. ;)

Too perfect to eat...almost. ;)

So delicious!

The Chicago Water Tower.
It was one of the few structures to withstand the great Chicago fire.

  1. Cheese for him and cupcakes for you. ;)

  2. Looks like SO much fuN! I am loving all these pictures and adventures you are taking!
