Spring Shows 2013

On May 15th and then again on May 22nd, I had the opportunity to go and see my nieces do their end of year dance routines. I just love watching them dance! They do such a good job and I always take them their favorite color carnation to make them feel special.  :)

Heidi and Mayci did 2 Mommy N Me routines.
Mayci definitely isn't a baby anymore because she danced those routines right along with Heidi. :)

Jade had 5 different dances! That seemed like a lot to me for a 7 year old, but she did an amazing job. :) I'm missing a picture of her in her first costume because I didn't realize she had so many costume changes. ;) Oops!

Kinley had 1 routine and could have done countless more! She was so enthused and did a great job. :)

So proud of my girls!

Andrew's New Job

For almost five years now, Andrew has worked at Nielsen's Furniture, which is a local furniture store here in Roosevelt where we live. He has really enjoyed working there and he has learned a lot, but since graduating from college, he felt the need to find his niche in the career world.

Last week, Andrew started working for Strata Networks, our local phone and Internet provider and he is loving it! He realized about midweek last week that this is the tech job he has always wanted and is now able to have because of his college degree. I hope he loves it there!

Through the months of June and July, I started to notice a change in Andrew. He was extremely stressed and unfortunately was not enjoying his new job. In the meantime, his old boss was realizing all of the things Andrew used to do at Nielsen's Furniture and by the end of July, he had asked Andrew to come back to the store. After much thought, we agreed that Andrew should go back to Nielsen's. Andrew was able to negotiate all of his old benefits back and he is also going to be able to be a lot more involved at the store then he was before. He will be doing all of the advertising for the store and will be much more involved with the selection and ordering of the furniture and appliances that the store carries including going to Las Vegas at least once a year for what they call "market". I'm just thrilled that he's happy and that I have my old Andrew back. :) Love him!

Mother's Day Weekend in Deweyville, UT

Last Friday morning my mom sent me a text inviting Andrew and I out to visit them at the house they recently bought in Deweyville, UT. We hadn't been there to see it yet so we decided this would be a good weekend to go!

We did a few things at home Saturday morning, but then we headed up for our visit. (I was going to get a picture of the town sign and one of their house and totally forgot so I'll have to do that next time I guess. ;)) After mom gave us a tour of the house, Andrew wanted to go get cheese in Logan so with mom in tow, we took a quick 25 minute drive around the mountain. I have a feeling this is going to be a regular occurrence whenever we visit. ;) Once we got back to the house, it was almost time for the dinner reservation mom had made for all of us at Maddox Ranch House. Ever since my parents bought their Deweyville house, people had been telling us how wonderful the food at Maddox's was so we were excited to try it! Unfortunately my dad hadn't been feeling well that day so he didn't get to come with us, but Andrew, mom and I went and definitely enjoyed!

For Mother's Day, we gave our moms a Ball Blue Heritage Collection Jar filled with mini plastic pears, lemons and limes and a mix from Lehi Roller Mills. I also made a jar for my grandma visiting from Washington for the next 2 weeks. Along with my own mom, she has always been an important woman in my life. :)

Also, Andrew wished me what he has come to call Happy Jessica's Day ;) and gave me a CD and DVD from my Amazon wish list. He's so thoughtful. :)

May Craft Night

I got motivated to cross stitch again after last month's craft night and got some more done on my current project! Here is this month's snippet pic of how far I've come after last night's craft night.

Until next month!
