Anniversary Weekend

For our anniversary this year, Andrew and I decided to go to Snowbird for the weekend. Neither one of us had ever been to Snowbird and they have quite a few summer activities so it sounded like fun. When we arrived early Saturday afternoon, we were offered the chance to upgrade to a room on the spa level, which gave us an even nicer room and access to the hotel's spa including use of the spa's rooftop pool and hot tub for guests ages 16 and up only. There was no question!

Everywhere we went, we were followed by these little ground squirrels. They were cute, but they weren't scared of us at all so they sometimes got a little too close for me! ;)

After checking in, we got some lunch at a delicious deli on the property and then went to check out the activities available. However, while wandering through the shops, a huge black raincloud appeared overhead and we were stuck in a downpour for about an hour. All the activities shut down so we headed back to the hotel to make use of the spa. It was FANTASTIC! I could have stayed there all night, but around 7, we headed back to our room to get ready for dinner. We went to a fun little Mexican restaurant also there on the property.

Sunday morning a breakfast buffet was included in our stay at another one of the restaurants on the property and then we went back over to make use of our wristbands for the summer activities that were also included in our stay. They were all open so first we took the Aerial Tram to Hidden Peak. The views from up there were incredible and there was even still a bit of snow.

Passing the other Aerial Tram mid flight.

The wildflowers were in bloom while we were there.

From there, we walked over to the Peruvian Tunnel and Chairlift that would take us back down to Snowbird. It was so relaxing just floating through the air for the 20 minute ride back.

Snow we found on the walk over to the chairlift. With how hot it has been this summer, it was a welcome sight. :)

Before we left, Andrew talked me into riding the Alpine Slide as well. We took the lift to the top of the slide and waited for our turn to go down. I was pretty cautious, but it was fun...and they took your picture while you were sliding so I had to buy them! ;)

On Monday, which was our actual anniversary, Andrew surprised me by delivering flowers to me at work. :) I got him an iTunes gift card and cheese. ;)

Happy 13 years to us! It really does just get better and better.
