Alaska Cruise Vacation Day 3 - Vancouver, B.C.

Sunday morning we had a shuttle scheduled from our hotel to the cruise ship, but it didn't leave until 11 so Randi asked if we wanted to go see the International Buddhist Temple that we had passed on our way to and from Steveston Village the night before. The International Buddhist Temple is one of the largest, if not the largest Buddhist temple in North America. Because of everyone's schedule that morning only Randi, Andrew and I took a taxi to the temple, but I was so glad we went because it was really neat to see the beautiful Chinese architecture there.

Andrew by some bamboo growing on the temple grounds.

We weren't able to photograph everything on the temple grounds, but it was so amazing and peaceful.

When we got back to the hotel, it was almost time to go to the pier. We finished packing, got on the shuttle and then we were headed to board our ship the Norwegian Pearl!

Itinerary

Once on board, we all headed up to the buffet for lunch. While we were eating, it was announced that our staterooms were ready so once we finished eating, we all headed down to check them out. We were in Stateroom 8007.

I had arranged to surprise Andrew with chocolate-covered strawberries in our stateroom. He enjoyed that. :)

Finally, it was time to set sail so we all headed up on deck to watch Vancouver fade in the distance.

After that we spent a lazy afternoon checking out the ship and unpacking and then it was time for dinner. Our ship had several specialty restaurants and we decided to make reservations at a few of them on the days we were at sea. They all had an additional cover charge, but it was well worth it! Tonight's dinner was at Moderno Churrascaria, which was a Brazilian-style steakhouse. This ended up being our group's favorite restaurant. The guys went crazy for all the meat and especially the lamb. They talked about it the whole rest of the cruise. :) My favorite was the grilled pineapple with brown sugar and cinnamon. Yum!

  1. I loved our ship! And that first place we ate was my absolute favorite. What a perfect first day on the ship.
