Alaska Cruise Vacation Day 1 & 2 - Traveling and Vancouver, B.C.

Friday night, May 4, we officially started our Alaska cruise vacation with our friends Josh & Savannah and Todd & Randi! Josh and Savannah met us at our house Friday afternoon and as soon as Andrew got off work, we headed to SLC to spend the night before flying to Vancouver, B.C. the next morning.

Once we got to the SLC airport Saturday morning, we found out our flight had been delayed a couple hours, but the airline gave us each $25 airport vouchers so we had fun walking around the airport spending our money. :) Finally our plane arrived and after a quick flight, we arrived in Vancouver, B.C.!

Vancouver Airport

Our hotel had a shuttle that came and picked us up at the airport and after checking in, we realized we were starving so we decided to check out what there was around our hotel and ended up eating at a local pub where the food was really good. After dinner, Josh and Savannah headed back to the hotel for some R&R and the rest of us decided to explore Vancouver a little bit so we took a taxi down to an area called Steveston Village. It's a cute little area with restaurants and shops down by the ocean. We stopped at a couple souvenir shops, walked along the boardwalk and had some almost-too-cute-to-eat mini doughnuts at a little shop owned by a woman we later found out was born in Vernal and went to Utah State University in Logan!

Carved out of wood.

Andrew loved the saying on this plaque.

Andrew having too much fun with the statues. ;)

Andrew had a "mini" Coke at the doughnut shop.

Andrew loves exchanging his money for foreign currency wherever he goes.

After we got back from Steveston Village, Andrew and Todd went to see The Avengers at the IMAX theater next to our hotel. It was the late show and they didn't get back to the hotel until 1:30 a.m.! I think they had fun anyway though. :)
