Yard Sale 2011

The 3rd Saturday in May we headed down to meet my whole family at my sister's house in Price. The guys were going to be adding on to my sister's house and us girls were having a yard sale. We left our house really early so we could be at my sister's house at 8 a.m.! We set up our sale and the guys got to work.

Whenever I've had yard sales in the past, early birds start showing up at 7:30 a.m., but by 8:30 a.m. that day I was starting to get nervous because only 1 person had stopped. We had advertised in the Nickel Ads and put up posters on the surrounding streets so where was everyone? Turns out people in Price must not get up as early because about 9:30 a.m....BAM! We had a huge turn out! We ended up doing pretty well at the sale and the weather was great! In fact maybe a little too great as we all ended up with varying degrees of sunburns. ;)

Waiting for the customers to come!

Mayci coming in to check on what the guys were doing. ;)

I also enjoyed spending time with my whole family together. I don't think that's happened since Christmas! It was a great day. :)

Proud Aunt

My sister Heidi called me a few weeks ago and invited me to come see my niece Jade dance in her Castle Country Stars Dance Spring Show. She is in the Pre/K group and they were performing 3 numbers at the show. I was so excited to come! I arrived early this past Wednesday and got to watch her getting ready. She loved wearing her costumes so I had her pose for a few pictures before we left the house.

Mayci wanted to be in a picture too, but as soon as I said "Say cheese", she came running toward the camera! Still a pretty cute picture though. :)

Jade did so well performing her dances and I loved watching her. I have to say I think she was one of the best dancers in her group. ;)

Dance #1: Hip Hop Mix

Jade is the one on the far left in the previous 3 pictures.

Dance #2: Hit The Road Jack

Jade is the 2nd one in on the far left.

Waiting for Dance #3 to begin and getting their wands. Jade is the 3rd one in on the far right.

Dance #3: Wish Upon A Star

Jade is the 2nd one in on the far left in the previous 3 pictures.

Now I just have to get out to SLC and see my nephew Lincoln play in one of his T-ball games!

Cupcake Class

Around the end of April, my sister Heidi called me and asked me if I would be willing to come down to Price and show the ladies in her ward a few different cupcake decorating techniques. I said I would even though I was nervous about it, but I had a few ideas from different cupcakes I'd tried so off I went the 2nd week in May. We ended up having quite a group since it ended up being a mother/daughter activity (which made me even more nervous) so I showed my few ideas and then invited everyone up to try for themselves and I just went around and helped.

I am by no means a professional at this, but at least I can say I gained some confidence from doing it. At the end they gave me 2 bottles of sprinkles to say thank you and that made me feel good. :)

*I wish I had remembered to have my sister take some pictures when I was up there helping everyone decorate their cupcakes, but there was a lady there taking some pictures so we're trying to track them down. I'll add them if I get them. ;)

I Am Blessed

Sunday was Mother's Day, but I try to just think of it as any other Sunday and not specifically Mother's Day because it makes getting though the day easier. I get my Mother's Day cards out early to the mother's I love in my life and that's that. In talking with my best friends this year though, they encouraged me to call the day Jessica's Day and to enjoy it. Andrew overheard this so on Friday evening he brought home flowers for me in the cutest primitive jar and wished me a Happy Jessica's Day.

On Sunday at dinner, Andrew's mom gave me a Mary Engelbreit card with 2 Mary Englebreit note pads (I love ME!).

Later on Sunday, Kim gave me this sweet Willow Tree figurine of an angel holding a cat. I love it and was so touched.

I want to say thank you to all the wonderful women in my life. I love you all. You boost me up and I cherish our relationships. To my loving husband, if it's even possible, I love you more every day.

Subway Art for the KitchenAid Stand Mixer

About a month ago I got this Subway Art for my KitchenAid Stand Mixer from The Idea Closet, but this weekend I finally got it put on. :P I love it!

Andrew's Graduation - General Associate of Science Degree

This past December Andrew completed the requirements to obtain his General Associate of Science Degree and this past Saturday he officially walked in graduation. It turned out to be a day to remember because Andrew's brother Brandon was graduating with his Master's Degree in Social Work at the same time.

The graduation ceremony itself was really neat. The graduates were lead in by the White Peaks Centennial Pipe Band. They honestly gave me chills!

I have to say how proud I am of Andrew. Going back to school is something Andrew decided he wanted to do in the Fall of 2007. He has continued to work full time while going to school and he gives them both 110%.

At the end of this week Andrew has another semester under his belt on his way to his Bachelor's Degree in Business. Two more years and I hope we're back at graduation again!
