September Tuck Swap

Yesterday was tuck swap again! Our theme for September was Fall. The one I made is above and the one I came home with is below. I ended up with Naomi's tuck. Naomi's tucks are always a sweet surprise. This month she did fall leaves, which are one of my favorite things about the fall. :)

In my August Tuck Swap post I talked about me winning the giveaway and so this month it was my turn to bring the giveaway. I pooled my resources (The Quilted Bear and thrift store) and put my own twist on it. ;) The basket went to Lewaina and I hope she enjoys it!

Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cartridge...With A Surprise

Remember this post? Well last week I was up at Savannah's house to see her kittens and we decided to pull out her Cricut and use her new Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cartridge that she had recently gotten. We started experimenting with different tags, bags and boxes and it was so fun! I stepped away for a minute to play with the kittens again and when I came back Savannah had made this cute bag.

She said it was for my birthday and inside with this.

It was so nice of her to remember me on my birthday along with all the others that did this year. We've now planned a shopping trip to SLC for this Saturday and I'm going to take the opportunity to use my gift card! The Quilted Bear is probably one of my all time favorite stores and she obviously knows that. Thanks again, Savannah! :)

My Birthday!

Last Saturday, August 7, was my birthday and I turned the big 3-0! That morning Andrew took me out for breakfast and then I opened a few presents from him. I got New Moon on DVD, a Le Creuset Mortar and Pestle and a Coach Wristlet. Exactly what I wanted. :)

Every year my birthday almost always falls on a celebration we have out here in the Uintah Basin called UBIC or Uintah Basin In Celebration. Since my FIL does a dutch oven food booth at UBIC every year, I almost always end up working on my birthday as well, but everyone always tries to make it special for me even though we're all there working hard. :) I also share my birthday with my BIL Brandon and so that night, before we opened for business, everyone paused to sing Happy Birthday to us and give me some flowers (in my favorite color purple) and Brandon a cake.

My SIL Kim gave me some balloons and made me these cute pineapple ornies and a pineapple fabric stitchery. She knows how much I love pineapple anything and I loved that she took the time to make all this for me.

The rest of my friends and family made me feel very loved as well with birthday messages, cards and phone calls.

A funny thing that happened on my birthday as well was my MIL had entered me in a drawing at UBIC a couple days before, but on my birthday I found out I had won! I won a $25.00 gift certificate to a booth there at UBIC called Wonderland Purses. I was able to go over that night and pick out a cute new bag. I had a little money leftover from the gift certificate after buying my bag so I also picked out a fan that folds up to go in your bag.

August Tuck Swap

Last week was tuck swap again! Our theme for August was Primitive. The one I made is above and the one I came home with is below. I ended up with Sarah's tuck and Sarah always makes the cutest tucks no matter what the theme is. :)

I was also the winner of our giveaway that we do every month. Katie put together this giveaway and she likes wool so I got some really cute things made out of wool and some wool pieces so I can experiment!

Next month I have to bring the giveaway so now I'm on the hunt for all things primitive to fill a basket with!
