Carribean Cruise Vacation Day 9 - Miami

This morning our ship docked back in Miami. Normally when you disembark after a cruise it takes most of the morning to get off the ship, but the whole family had decided to do an Everglades tour that day so we were one of the very first to get off the ship. It was worth paying for an excursion just for that! We boarded a bus that took us to the Everglades and from there we boarded an airboat.

We had to wear ear plugs on the airboat because the fan was so loud. The airboat literally hovered over the water and we were able to see one big alligator swimming out there and a couple sunning themselves on the banks.

Once our airboat ride was over, we went into a small building with aquariums full of smaller alligators and snakes.

Then we stepped out into an open air theater where about 5 or so big alligators were lying in water. We got to watch one of their handlers try to get them out of the water and feed them.

As we were exiting the theater we could make a $3.00 donation to the park and hold a small alligator named Snappy. Andrew thought that would be fun so we paid our money and I got this picture opportunity. :)

Andrew and Snappy

After holding Snappy, most of us went on a small nature walk and saw some more alligators.

Then we visited the gift shop where Andrew purchased some alligator jerky to bring home to his buddies. From there we boarded our bus again and the bus took us to the airport for our flight home.

On the flight home we had a short layover in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Andrew and I had never been to Minnesota before, but I knew the Mall of America was only about a mile from the Minneapolis airport so we were looking for it out of our window on the plane. We ended up being able to spot it and I was really wishing that we had longer layover to go check it out. One of these days we're planning a trip back just to check it out. From what I've heard, the Mall of America is 1 mile long and has 4 levels so I'm sure we're talking about at least a day to see it all!

The cruise was a great family vacation and I hope we're all able to do it again sometime. Thanks so much Dad and Mom. We had so much fun. We love you! Love to all my brothers and sisters too. We had so much fun hanging out with you guys and getting to know you all even better. :)
