I bought Andrew tickets to a Jazz game for Christmas and it was finally time to go! I had tried to buy tickets to an game closer to Christmas, but they were all sold out so on Saturday we drove to SLC (our favorite place to be!!). The game started at 7 p.m. so we had some time for shopping first and then we ate dinner at Chili's, one of our favorite restaurants, with my Christmas gift from Alicia (Thanks, Alicia!) before we headed downtown. The Jazz were playing the New Orleans Hornets. We had seats in the nose-bleed section, but it was a great game. The Jazz won 102 to 88. Yeah!!
P.S. I had set my camera aside to bring with us and of course ended up forgetting it (the story of my life) so these pictures were taken with our phones. Not the best, but at least I had them!
The night of Valentine's Day Andrew took me to Hollow Moon Cafe. We only had to wait about 10 minutes or so to be seated, which for the night of Valentine's Day anywhere that's great! However, we ended up being there about 2 hours after it was all said and done because they were REALLY slow to take our order and bring our food. Oh well, it was good food and a fun time. So I told you that I had a surprise for Andrew for Valentine's Day. He loves chocolate-dipped raspberries so I bought him a Valentine's fondue pot! I had mini marshmallows, graham crackers, raspberries and strawberry's to dip in the milk chocolate. It was a yummy dessert and a fun end to Valentine's Day this year.
Valentine's Day started actually on Friday the 13th for us! Andrew had a dozen long-stemmed red roses delivered to me at work. They are so beautiful! Saturday Andrew had to work so I got up and cooked him my traditional Valentine's Day breakfast...pink pancakes with pink milk, before he left! This tradition is something my mom always did for us kids growing up (on St. Patrick's Day we got green pancakes with green milk!). When I first started making them for Andrew he wasn't so sure about the color, but it's just food coloring, the taste is still the same as always! It's a great tradition Mom!
You can't quite tell the pancakes are pink after they are cooked because they brown, but inside they are!
We exchanged cards also before he left for work and I gave Andrew some "hugs" as well. They are his favorite because he loves white chocolate! Stay tuned because I'll add my Valentine's night post after it happens! I have a surprise planned! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!
Andrew and I love the Super Bowl! Our tradition of watching it together dates back to when we were still dating each other in high school. The reasons we love the Super Bowl...Andrew more for the football, me more for the commercials. My favorite one this year was the Mr. Potato Head commercial.
This year Andrew and I wore Eagles jerseys so we could match, even though we were rooting for Arizona! Andrew had 2 of them, #14 Ty Detmer and #89 Chad Lewis. Not coincidentally they were both former BYU football players. You know how Andrew loves the Cougs (and hates when people call them the Cougs, which is why I'm doing it to tease him!)!! I made Artichoke Dip that was soooo good! I got the recipe from a Pampered Chef party I had gone to the week before the game so it was a perfect time to test it out! If you want the recipe just email me and I can send it to you. In the end, unfortunately, Arizona didn't win, but we had a good time anyway!
I've been wanting to try my hand at this blogging stuff for some time so here goes..! I'm not a scrapbooker like my mom and sisters so maybe this will be a way for me to do some journaling and put my pictures out there. Enjoy!
