New Mexico Trip Day 1

A few months ago Andrew bought tickets to the BYU vs New Mexico football game in Albuquerque. We decided to drive there so last Friday we left on our journey. It's a little over 9 hour drive, but with stops, it was very much an early morning to late night drive! On the way on Friday though we did stop at Hole N' the Rock just south of Moab. It's a 5000 square foot home built in the inside of a giant rock. In the 50's, the homeowners had a diner next to their house inside the rock and later on the diner turned into a gift shop and they started giving tours of their home as a way to make ends meet.

We also stopped for a quick look at the Monticello, UT temple on our way through Monticello before heading over to Colorado and then into New Mexico.

  1. I love that road trip down to New Mexico from home! When Katie used to live there we would go over to Cortez and then on to Durango and then to Pagoosa Springs and from there, we would go south to Chama NM. I kind of miss the trip. What way did you guys go from Monticello?

  2. Looks like a fun trip! I'll be making this same drive when I head to San Antonio next month. I'll have to stop and see the Hole In The Rock!
