Utah Cancer Control Program's Cervical Cancer Prevention Contest Part III

The good news is that cervical cancer is largely preventable. Although the HPV vaccine can provide some protection, abstinence and regular screening with a Pap smear test are critical to early detection and successful treatment.

To prevent cervical cancer women over the age of 18 should get regular pap tests even if they have had the HPV vaccine. See www.cancerutah.org/prevent for more information.

This concludes my posts about HPV and ways you can help protect yourself from this virus. Cross your fingers and maybe I'll be lucky enough to win a prize for my efforts!
